Utilizing the DSM-5-TR: We use the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statitistical Manual 5th editon-Terminology Revision with International Classification of Diseases, the ICD-10 numeric codes for insurance billing. Taking a comprehensive history, taking a comprehensive history, utilizing structured interviews, diagnostic rating scales and many years of experience.Treatment
Psychiatric disorder treatment utilizes psychiatric (or psychotropic) medications, psychotherapy, and interventional means such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. We utilize our clinical accumen as well as algorithms such as the Harvard Medical School ones freely online.Algorithms
An algorithim is a set of step-by-step instructions that describe how to perform a task such as prescribing medications for a specific disorder such as major depression. It is a flow sheet with arrows pointing to the next step if certain conditions are met or not met. See next section on Algorithms for an example of treating depression.
